In my quest to be both original and to promote this artist's work, I put together these MySpace comments graphics using his stuff... (that is I pasted messages onto croppings of pics I ripped off his site) Each was initially put together with a specific (but different) person in mind, but I got so happy with myself (I am a little full of myself... as clearly evidenced by the length of this post) that I also sent them to many other friends...

I didn't ask the artist's permission to put these together but I always made sure the link embedded in the graphics I posted in my friend's comment section pointed back to his web site... and I suspect he doesn't mind the free publicity that much. I like this artist's work so much that a friend of mine bought two 8x10 numbered prints from him and gave them to me for my birthday (what a thoughtful friend!) ...I purchased a third one from him to make it a set... And if I'm one day rolling in money for some reason (in my dreams) I might purchase more...

I have since been asked by friends who would also like to use them where to find these graphics... My original intention was not to share them and simply continue to point people to his site (my hope is that he makes more sales of his work) but it has since occurred to me that not sharing them would simply increase the chances that other folks as technically savvy as me (but less concerned with promoting him) might take matters into their own hands.

And so, I've decided to turn this blog post into my own little "myspace comment graphics site" complete with copy and paste code for all the graphics I create using François Dubeau's work. I will update the post as I create new ones.

The image link continues to point to his site but I've added a text link below the image that points here... that way all can share in the MySpace tradition.

Of all the finds in my evercontinuing search for sexy/sexual music, this album is so far the gem in my collection. I discovered it about three years back, when information about it was much harder to find... (before wikipedia came of age).

And here's an interesting little factoid that I just discovered while researching for this post and that now makes me feel like a really sophisticated insider: It turns out the album cover is a pastiche of Serge Gainsbourg's second album, published in 1959.

He wrote and published in 1969 what, as far as I know, could be considered the first ever widely played sexy/sexual song (God bless the French!) titled: Je t'aime... moi non plus ...which literally translates as "I love you... me neither"

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a horny little devil interested in anything to do with sexuality and as such, I'm always on the lookout for music with sexual undertones or themes and the such...

I'm not a big fan of magic and magicians but I have to admit this guy really impressed me. Plus he's got the whole "The Crow / Marilyn Manson" thing going... pretty cool.

Radio Revolution

I just saw this fascinating documentary on CBC Newsworld about a Windsor radio station that apparently dominated the US market in the late 60's and early 70's.

Any fan of Rock 'n Roll / Pop music history will love this.

Who knew that one of the most powerful people in the music biz of the time was a single mother of three from little old Windsor Ontario...

The station was essentially killed by the CanCon rules and general CRTC bureaucratic idiocy.
